How it works
Three steps from shadow geometry to a live map.

Helsinki 3D buildings
We use the city’s CityGML LOD2 building model and compute where each building’s shadow falls for the sun’s current altitude and bearing.

Sun geometry + FMI cloud
Sun geometry and the Finnish Meteorological Institute’s cloud forecast combine into a five-state sun status and a 0–100 % heat scale for every terrace.

Live map
The result shows on the map instantly: which terraces are sunlit now and when the shadow moves on. No promoted spots, no sign-up.

Mistä Sunspot tietää, missä aurinko paistaa?
Yhdistämme Helsingin 3D-kaupunkimallin (CityGML LOD2 -rakennukset) ja Ilmatieteen laitoksen pilvisyysennusteen: laskemme jokaiselle terassille, mihin rakennusten varjot osuvat auringon kulloisellakin korkeudella ja suunnalla, ja päivitämme aurinkotilan sen mukaan.
Onko Sunspot ilmainen?
Kyllä. Sunspot on kuluttajille täysin ilmainen, eikä käyttö vaadi kirjautumista. Sijaintiasi ei tallenneta.
Missä kaupungeissa Sunspot toimii?
Tällä hetkellä Helsingissä. Kattavuus on rajattu kaupungin 3D-rakennusmalliin, josta aurinkolaskenta perustuu.
Kuinka usein tiedot päivittyvät?
Aurinkotila lasketaan 30 minuutin aikaväleille tälle ja huomiselle päivälle, ja se ottaa huomioon Ilmatieteen laitoksen tuoreen pilvisyysennusteen.
Terassini puuttuu — miten lisään sen?
Avaa Sunspot-kartta ja käytä hakukentän "Ilmoita puuttuva ravintola" -toimintoa, tai lähetä terassin nimi ja osoite sähköpostilla osoitteeseen hei@sunspot.fi.
